The Los Angeles Regional Imagery Acquisition Consortium (LARIAC) provides a valuable dataset that can help move the region towards resiliency.  Many organizations including universities, nonprofits, businesses and local governments, are already applying this data to a range of projects from analysis through policy and plan implementation.  At this 3rd Month Forum, Mark Greninger, Los Angeles County’s Geographic Information Officer, will give an overview of the LARIAC dataset. Panelists will highlight real applications such as: analysis of tree canopy coverage, solar panel potential and planning for sea level rise. 

The Local Government Sustainable Energy Coalition (LGSEC) in partnership with LEAN Energy US is organizing a day-long Community Choice Energy Forum for local government decision-makers, staff members and key stakeholders on May 18th in downtown Los Angeles between 8:30am – 4:45pm. A no-host reception will be held immediately following the event between 4:45pm – 6:00pm.

The Energy Commission is planning an in-depth study of the vulnerability of the California energy system to climate change designed to identify realistic adaptation options that will minimize or eliminate negative impacts.

The relationship between energy utilities and their commercial, industrial and institutional customers has undergone a transformational shift.  

The AEE SoCal 2014 Annual Conference program will be of strong interest to energy engineers, facility managers, building owners, utility executives and account managers, energy service companies, contractors, design firms, consultants. and anyone else that interacts with energy utilities and their commercial-scale customers in the Southern California region. 

The California Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) staff will host three public 
workshops throughout the State in September to seek public input on issues that should 
be considered before the Board updates the regional passenger vehicle greenhouse 
gas emission reduction targets (SB 375 targets) for the State Metropolitan Planning 
Organizations (MPO). 

At the workshops, ARB staff will present background information on the 
target update process, and will seek public input on the issues outlined in the 
preliminary draft staff report. ARB staff will consider all input received at these 
workshops before preparing a revised staff report with recommendations for target 
updates. The revised staff report and recommendations will be presented to the Board 
at a public meeting in October 2014.
